2004 Cha Cha

The Cha Cha blend is an equally great wine for those who love Chardonnay and for those who don't. This blend has all the attributes of a wonderful Chardonnay, without the over-oaked quality of so many, allowing the fruit flavor to dominate.

This lemon yellow Cha Cha blend exhibits aromas of tropical fruit and ripe pear. A rich, full bodied wine that is easy drinking with a touch of butter and vanilla, for a rich creamy long finish.

This complex Chardonnay blend is a great wine by the glass and can be enjoyed with simple preparations of pork, veal, poultry, pasta, fish and shellfish. As well, with mildly spicy and salty foods. Best served slightly chilled.

The Clarksburg appellation is known for producing top quality Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc, mainly due to its ideal climate for those varietals. As the Sacramento Valley heats up during the day, it pulls in the cool maritime breeze from the bay, which allows warm summer days and cool evenings. We take special care in all aspects of our grape growing from deficit irrigation, to precise pruning techniques to handpicking at harvest.

Grapes were picked in the morning and gently pressed. Juice was cold settled and initially fermented cold in stainless. The wine finished fermentation in small oak barrels, with the Chenin Blanc staying in stainless steel to preserve its fruit character. The wine was aged, sur lee, for 6 months. 70% of the wine underwent secondary fermentation to round out the palate.
